For anyone who hasn't heard of Kickstarter, it is a crowd funding website that allows you to either start a project like a new business or donate to someone who is starting something you want to support. I have had the honor of helping several people get their businesses off the ground. It is amazing that for a small donation of $25 or so you can make someone's dream come true. I have just started a Kickstarter campaign for myself.

I really believe going to several farms in the UK will be beneficial not only for the farmers I will work for but for myself. I miss farming like nothing else but I just can not do it by myself so this is my chance to farm my brains out with like minded people. I really hope to have fun and meet some great new friends. I think it will help Mason grow up a little. He needs to see what real life is like and get away from those darn video games! I know he thinks he will hate it but I think he will be surprised.
I had my Best friend visiting me this week but now she has left so the countdown to England starts tomorrow. I have sooooo much to do!!

It has been a crazy month so far...
When August started I though the toughest thing I would have to deal with was my 39th birthday. I was terribly wrong.
The first thing I had to deal with is my house in Colorado. We need to sell it but we have the best renters. Unfortunately, they can not buy the house but they are going to move out in September so I need to get the place ready to sell so we don't end up with two house payments. The first set of renters we had were a nightmare and I can not deal with that again!! I wish the best for my friends in their new house but I am looking at about $5-10K worth of repairs and upgrades to get it on the market. I am afraid that I will end up paying someone to buy my house and that will really upset me. I love that house! I just want to pick it up and move it to Virginia.
| I am NOT 93!! |
The next fun thing was my dad, who was already sick, got really bad and had to be taken to the ER. After hearing this I got a ticket and flew out to Colorado to deal with the house and to try to relieve some of the burden off my brother and mom who normally takes care of my dad when he gets bad. He spent a very confused week in the hospital, where he was barely aware of reality and he fell and broke a rib in the hospital too. My poor dad is a fall risk and extremely paranoid so he is always trying to escape the hospital. He can't walk for more than a few feet without falling so they gave him some medicine that made him more mobile but made him absolutely loony! He was talking to lamps and thinking I was going to be shot. He also seemed to think I was staying in a homeless shelter. The funniest thing was I thought it would be a huge surprise for him to see me since he didn't know I was going to fly out there. The joke was on me, though, because he hallucinated that I came out so he was not surprised at all!
I stayed with my brother Andy and it was quite a week. I love Andy to death but we fight like cats&dogs. We definitely see the world differently. He sees everything as black and white or right and wrong and he can be very bull headed with what he thinks is right. Still he is a wonderful guy and I hate fighting with him. I hate that he has to deal with mom and dad in addition to his MIL moving into his house, loss of a job and starting a new business. I hope that he doesn't turn into a stress ball and explode.
I enjoyed Colorado but it doesn't feel like home anymore. Speaking of home, I got to see my house. All in all it wasn't too bad. My renters, also my friends and former neighbors, are taking very good care of my house. I wish they could stay, I wanted them to buy the house so bad. Thanks to the deadbeats before them, though, I have to do a bunch of little things to get it ready for selling. I did have a nice birthday dinner and cake while I was there and even God gave me a present.
So I have 3 weeks to get all this crap done. I will add my travel to do list on my next post.
